FAQ - Lisa's Playhouse

Q

What is a ‘litter less lunch’?

A

A litter less lunch is comprised of reusable containers as opposed to single use, disposable plastic, and sugar laden convenience foods. Our goal is to help our families learn to be environmentally conscious and become stewards of the earth

Q

Do you accept children who are not potty trained?

A

We are happy to include children who are not yet potty trained and our educators will work with parents to accomplish training when the child is ready 😊

Q

Am I able to put my child on a waitlist?

A

We do keep waitlists for our programs and are happy to add children- as spaces do open up occasionally.  Please note  that priority placement will go to our current families.

Q

Can we be flexible with my child’s schedule?

A

We require the children to attend the same days each week- as the space has to be held, whether the child attends or not. If you choose to have a home day, payment is still required.

Q

Do parents pay for vacation time?

A

Our centre is closed between Christmas and New Years and also for 2 weeks during the summer. Christmas and New Years Day require payment if they are days your child attends. What procedures are in place for CoVid 19?

A

A

Public Health requires 24 hour exclusion for vomiting, diarrhea, a temperature over 101(38.5) If a child is too ill to participate in our activities, they should not attend. If a child becomes ill while at our centre, we will call a parent to come pick them up.

A

We do remain open on storm days, however if RCMP issue a No Travel Advisory because of road conditions, we may close early for the safety of our children and our staff.

Q

What if my child isn’t feeling well?

A

Public Health requires 24 hour exclusion for vomiting, diarrhea, a temperature over 101(38.5) If a child is too ill to participate in our activities, they should not attend. If a child becomes ill while at our program, we will contact a parent to come pick them up.

Q

Can you warm my child’s lunch if it is cold outside?

A

We suggest lunches be sent preheated in a thermos as we cannot heat lunches for all of the children. In hotter weather, we recommend ice packs be included in your child’s lunch.

Q

Do the children spend all of their time outside?

A

Children will spend the majority of their time outside. The exception will be if the weather is colder than -20, and hotter than +30. We go out in all kinds of weather, including rain and snow. We do have an indoor classroom for use when focus work is necessary.

Q

Are you closed on storm days?

A

Our Outdoor Preschool follows the same schedule as Lisa's Playhouse. If Lisa's Playhouse is open, so will our Outdoor Preschool.
